Paws
- The best dog park in the world – that really isn’t a dog park
- Finnegan did not bark at the antelope (this is a big win)
Breathe
- Flat tire on the dolly meant a quick change on the side of the road in Glenrock
- We really appreciated the pure joy the dogs showed running through this park
- Its amazing that the entire state is yellow straw grass and then a big patch of lush green grass for their dogs
Pay it forward
- Rolling Hills Town has the loveliest staff
- Gave us a gift bag with about 5 pounds of material about Wyoming and all of the neighbouring states
- you won’t notice a flat on the tow vehicle behind the RV be alert and check the rear camera
Our arrival at Rolling Hills, WY, was a little more eventful than planned, thanks to a small hiccup—blowing a tire on the car dolly in the neighbouring town of Glenrock. But John the Rockstar husband Laverty, being the handy wizard he is, handled it like a pro. With all the right tools and a spare at the ready, he had us back on the road after a quick tire change, no sweat. Packing an impact gun seemed lime overkill at the time…
When we finally rolled into Rolling Hills, we were greeted by the kind of host every RVer dreams of. Not only did she chat with us about our journey and share tips on things to see in the area, but she also handed us a completely unnecessary but incredibly thoughtful welcome gift—some sweet little keepsakes and a basket full of info on all the neighbouring states. Now that’s hospitality!
But the real showstopper? The town’s fully fenced park. Let me tell you, this place was like walking on a dream. The grass was so lush, that even Auggie, our princessiest chihuahua, started playing the moment her tiny paws touched it. If Auggie approves, you know it’s top-notch. The dogs absolutely loved it. We walked them through the park three or four times before we left the next day—and trust me, it’s way bigger than it looks.
As if that weren’t enough, this really is the place where “the deer and the antelope play.” They were everywhere, and we got some amazing photos of them just hanging out around town. Our crowning wildlife moment came the next morning when we found ourselves face-to-face with antelope in our driveway. Finnegan, our usual chaos-causer, somehow managed to keep his cool—truly a miracle!
Rolling Hills may be a little off the beaten path, but it’s worth every extra mile for the peace, the lush park, and the unforgettable wildlife encounters.
